"Sarah
and Katie" Ticket Price TBA This stage adaptation by Rebecca Webb of the novel by Dori White (illustrations by Trina Schart Hyman) tells the story of a class of sixth graders in Portland, Oregon during the Great Depression. Their plans to put on a Thanksgiving play to raise donations for impoverished local families are complicated by the arrival of a glamorous new student from Hollywood and the disappearance of their auditorium teacher's diamond ring.
The play features 10 major roles for children; Webb hopes to cast them exclusively from the Pope County 5th and 6th graders who will be attending school together for the first time due to elementary closings in the area. Auditions will be held in October pending grant funding.
